| I know is VERY early for this one but please read on. This event has been brought to my attention by Jim who has also spoken to the organisers already. They are very happy to have us along, but will need have an idea of likely numbers earlier rather than later. The event website can be seen HERE. Spaces are very limited apparently so it's in our interest to get some slots booked ASAP. Entry for clubs is free. So what I need to know is, firstly are we interested in attending, and second, who would like a place on a club stand ?

| No answer to email, no answer on Facebook page. No answer on phone number. Pretty good way to organise an event then. | |

| Go on Show website as individuals and register. 11 members of CCCUK have been accepted since I sent out email earlier in week.
The 88 and 9 rule. | |

The 88 and 9 rule. As a last ditch attempt I have filled in the form today to try and get them to contact either me or Jim. Pretty poor effort though, Jim emailed them weeks ago about this event and still no contact back.

| Finally got someone to answer the phone yesterday after weeks of trying, BUT that person couldn't deal with our enquiry. Oh joy. Message left for the guy dealing with the show to call me later yesterday. Guess what, no call ! Getting very close to telling them to stick their event. | |

| I have finally managed to get some contact with the organisers after weeks of trying. There is no problem with us having a club stand, however they need to know who is attending and the car details IN THE NEXT WEEK OR SO. God knows why they need it so early, but there you go.
So the list I have so far is below. If I have missed anyone, or anyone else wants to join us I need to know asap.
Ian V : Corvette C5
Jim : Ginetta
Sean Arnoup : Monaro
Peter : Corvette Z16
Mike Gibson : TVR Cerbera
Paul : TVR Chimeara of Tasmin 200
Phil Noble : TVR Griff 400
Andrew Houndsfield : TVR Tuscan (possible)
Thanks all

| And still the 'problems' with this event go on and on and on !
Rang yesterday to check when passes will be sent out only to be told that they have all gone already. Oh no they haven't I say. Anyway, for the 3rd time now I have again emailed him details of all attending and my address to send the passes too. Also in big letters ask him to confirm receipt of details. Nothing !
The words piss-up and brewery come to mind. I'll give it another week and then it will be back on the phones again. Really starting to lose patience with the organisers of this event.

The 88 and 9 rule. Assume you got your pass as part of the CCCUK entry Peter ?

| No not as CCCUK, members applied as individual entries as it got a bit late for a club entry.

| Finally got our passes through this morning ! But wait that's not the end of it. On the last email I sent them I listed everyone attending along with car details, total 10. So how many passes do they send : 8 !!!!! Having checked, I see that Andrew and Peter already have individual passes so all is well I think. Just out of courtesy I ring Matt at Old Buckenham to explain. Now this appears to be a problem because he needs to re organise again as we need 10 spaces ! But this is what I told them !!!! Arghhhhhhh ! Anyway, have emailed him back with details of the two who have individual passes so 'hopefully' it will sort itself out. Must say in all my years of organising club attendances for both FCCC and PH before, this is by far the worst one I have come across to get sorted. Let's hope the day is worth it. | |

| Right, 2 weeks to go now so I have sorted out a meeting point for us close to the event. I have gone for the lay-by / slip road outside Old Buckenham High School in the village of Old Buckenham. Link to google map .........HERE. Looks big enough for us all to get safely off the road for a few minutes. TimeWould like to meet up ready to leave the RV point at 9.30am. It's only a few minutes to the airfield from here so should be in easily by 10.00. A few of you have your passes now, but I will hand out the others at the RV point. Final list and pass details below. Ian Venni : Chevrolet Corvette C5 (has pass)
James Thomsen : Ginetta G26 (has pass)
Sean Arnoup : Vauxhall Monaro
Peter Watson : Chevy c10 pickup (has pass)
Mike Gibson : TVR Cerbera (has pass)
Paul King : either TVR Chimaera or TVR Tasmin (has pass)
Phil Noble : TVR Griffith 400
Colin Mold : TVR Tamora
Steve Popple : Lotus Esprit V8
Andrew Houndsfield : TVR Tuscan (has pass)

| Well certainly one event to cross off next years events list. The words piss up and brewery come to mind.
This is what has just been sent to the 'organisers' if I can use that word
WHAT A TOTAL FARCE TODAY WAS. Now let me explain why :
After many weeks of emails and phone calls I finally received club stand passes for my club Future Classics Car Club. Upon arriving this morning with 7 cars (despite the weather) we are directed to the public car park. When we said we had a club stand we were told they were all full up by 9.30. The letter we received with the passes said the gates open at 9.30 for us, so how did this happen ? Surely if we have a club stand booked, it is ours whenever we arrive. We had our club banner and gazebo neither of which we could use.
Even when we arrived at around 9.45 the entrance to the car park was a mud bath. Made us very glad we had all spent hours getting are cars to look there best for you to be directed through 6'' of mud. I know that you can't control the weather, but this rain was forecast so it didn't exactly suprise you. Not until around 12 noon was any effort made to sort out the car park entrance. This consisted of a few straw bails broken up and laid over the mud.
One of our party had the misfortune to suffer a drained battery due to a fan not switching off. We had to push his car across the muddy car park to the exit concrete road to bump start it. At no time were we offered any help by any of the car park staff who just stood and watched us.
At this point (about 1pm) it was clear that many cars were having difficulty in the car park so we called it a day and left before we too became stuck. The way out consisted as what can only be discribed as a bomb site with pot holes you could lose a car in.
So to sum it up, the words piss up and brewery come to mind. This is by far the worst organised event I have ever attended and I will certainly not be coming back.
