Classic Sports Car Championships, Snetterton 300: 14-15 Apr 2012

We attended this event at Snetterton last year and the feedback from everyone was good so I thought we would give it another go !

I am in contact with Terry Scannell at Snetterton again regarding us having a club parking area as last year. He doesn't seem to think this will be a problem and has hinted that we may even get a parade lap during the lunch break as last year. He is awaiting contact from the Competitions Director at Snetterton to finalize the details with him, so now seems like a good time to start to gauge interest and attendance with you all. I should have more details during next week.

Having looked at the programme I believe Saturday (14th) looks like the best day for us, as the CSCC Future Classics series is that day which will be a nice tie in for us. There was a thread on PH some time ago regarding a 'Historics V8'series which will also be part of this event. The grid contains lots of American muscle cars from the late 60's and early 70's as I understand it. I have asked if Terry can confirm which day this will be on also, as I can see this being a good race.

Once I have further details back from Terry I will confirm whether it will be Sat 14th or Sunday 15th.

So the question is who is interested in attending and being part of a club stand ? I could do with a rough idea of numbers asap so as to move forward with Snetterton.

Pretty sure it will be the Saturday for us anyway. Will keep you informed.

Starting to get things together for the CSCC race meet at Snetterton in April. Looks like we will attend on Sat 14th as this has the better race calendar for what we are about. Now in discussions with Snetterton, and will post up more information as soon as I have it.

If you would like to come along please let me know asap so as I can get an idea of numbers for Snetterton.

No further news to report from Snetterton as yet, but I am in contact with the people that matter so will report back once I have more info.

Sounds like a good replacement for the Snetterton event. Look out for icebergs !

Hi mate - Being East Anglia I'm certainly going to take some warm clothes !. I'd forgotten about Snett. Had run out to Milton Keynes in the Tam this evening to go for a pint with a pal. Most enjoyable - roof on, on the way back.

FINAL CALL

With less that 2 weeks to go now I need to get numbers to Snetterton by the end of this week.

So far there looks like 9 cars attending, so still room ( and time ) to join us. Whilst the parade lap is looking unlikely, Deborah at Snetterton has suggested that we all have our drivers license with us so if time allows we have all we need to be 'signed on' quickly.

I will be in touch next weekend regarding a meeting time, but would suggest meeting just before the pay booths as last year.

I had the provisional timetable sent to me last night by Terry Scannell. Looks like a very busy day !

Right, one week to go so time for some times and places !

I would suggest meeting on the long straight just before the pay booths as last year. Time : 9.00am if that's okay for everyone.

For anyone not making an early start I understand that we will have an allocated area infield at 'Nelson' corner. See map below for those not in the know. The marshall's on the day should be aware of us so if you not sure just ask.




Finally, although a track lap is looking unlikely because of the busy timetable, please bring along your driving licence just in case. Let's hope the weather improves a little.

IMPORTANT ! CHANGE OF PARKING FOR SATURDAY.


For those of you attending Snetterton this weekend with Future Classics Car Club, I have just received notification of a change to our parking location. Don't worry, it's far better than original !

We have now been given the VIP parking area overlooking the assembly area. For those who attended last year it's the same spot that we had then. For those who did not, I have attached a map showing the location. It will be signposted for us and the marshalls are aware.

Sorry for the late change, but better for us.

Thanks very much Ian for organising a great day. Good to catch up with some old faces, well not old as in years but you know what I mean and before somebody takes the p**s about old people I was not the oldest there! All I can say is that nothing sounds like a V8.
