| Well after last years 'no takers' it's time to try to get something together for this years show. The event is held at Newmarket Racecourse and is a mix of new car dealer stands, classic cars and family entertainment. Their website can be seen here : http://www.twocountiesmotorshow.co.uk/I have booked to attend as a club but I haven't given any numbers at present. So far a couple of us have said 'it would be good to go back again', so I intend for us to have some presence at this years show even if it's only a few cars. Ideally I need to have numbers by 16th June when I get back from Le Mans. So, who wishes to attend ? | |

| Ian,
I have this down on my calendar, so I'm in. The R5GTT resto is in progress, like we've started the engine, but it'll be the Coupé I'll be bringing this time...

| Anymore for this one ??????
I've just confirmed our booking with Mike Bacon (the organiser). Ideally I'd like to get more than 4 cars there, but hey ho. We will need to be on site around 8.30am, but a few minutes either way doesn't sound as if it will be a big issue.

| Just about a week to our next outing (Sunday 29th) at the Two Counties Motorshow at Newmarket Racecourse.
There is no set number of places for this one, however, I do need to let the organiser know approx numbers and what's coming early next week. So, last call if you want to tag along please let me know this weekend.

| Hi Steve,
I'll be sending out RV details over weekend, but thinking of the entrance road down to the racecourse about 8.30.

| For those attending next Sunday's show at Newmarket Racecourse, here are the RV times and details.
I propose for us to meet at the top of the entrance road to the racecourse this is off Hamilton Road, Newmarket for those not in the know. There's only a few of us so I can't see an issue with meeting here, we shouldn't cause to much of a block !
Can we aim to be there by 8.30am please.
If you have not said you are coming but fancy it on the day, please still turn up at the RV point. Space will not be an issue at this event.
Well that's it. See you next Sunday.

The weather forecast isn't looking that good. I'll be keeping a close eye on it as it's a long journey to make and be forced to sit in the car for most of the day That's the penalty for living on the edge (o't'world) I guess... Regards, Steve

| I too have an eye on the weather Steve. Hopefully will be okay. I will have the gazebo with me for a bit of shelter (if needed). Update : Well, two now dropped off the list of those attending. If the weather is dodgy I know that Richard and his lovely Cobra will not be there, so could be down to only 3 of us. Hardly worth bothering. Sorry to say but this one will definitely not be on next years events list. | |

Well, I'm not out just yet. I've been caught out by dodgy weather forecasting before. I went to the Corbridge show this year. I'm glad I went because it was probably the driest part of Cumbria and Northumberland that day - until about 2pm, when we got a tad washed-out too... Still, it was a great show and like others where I've stayed away, I'd have been livid if I'd missed it then heard from others about how good it was. Regards, Steve

| Well yesterday is one of those events best forgotten. Out of the original 6 on the entry list it ended up with just me and Colin. I'll not be putting myself and the club in this position again, if we can't achieve 5 cars for any future shows then I'm cancelling it. Sorry, but the look on the guy on the gates face when I told him it was only two of us said it all. The show was no where as big as I remember it being a few years back, in fact you could have walked around everything and gone home in an hour. On top of that, what started as a nice bright sunny day didn't last long. By mid morning the rain set in and it was still there when we left about 2pm. If it hadn't been for finding the bar to sit and have a catch up we would have been out of there a lot sooner. Will not be going back. | |
