PostSubject: Roo Refurb!   Roo Refurb! EmptyMarch 12th 2011, 12:54 am

Just thought I'd post a few pics for you all to have a laugh! Be nice to have us all have work in progress threads in future coz it can be interesting as well as enlightning for the faint of heart...

Had a water leak on the roo and thought originally it was a faulty rad cap (common problem) but later found it was a ruptured tank ( common problem )

Heres a pic of the bay with the rad out. Crud everywhere.....

Got a new rad, installed and all good. Yippee! Total time - 3 hours.

Next was brake pads and discs. Brakes started to squeel bad so ordered new pads and discs. Had done over 20,000 on them so knew it was probably time for change...

one of the new discs....

Changing these was a bugger! Mainly due to time.......to be continued..

Glad your getting it sorted Jim. Those discs look the biz. Are they oversized ? I think new discs and pads is on the menu for the Vette soon.

Are you still likely to make Snetterton on the 9 th April ?

Not sure when discs should be replaced. These were still pretty hefty albeit with burrs round the edge, making caliper removal a complete B@*ch coz a piston had stuck open. Managed to close it eventually though.

Roo Refurb! Hub

Then the hub bit had to be unbolted from the disc. This might be a way of saving weight as the hub thingy is Anodised Aluminium, but what a pain in the Ars@! Each little bolt was loctite'd in so a bugger to remove.

Roo Refurb! Wheelfin

Any way after much cursing and swearing and screaming and coffee, finally got both sides done. Total time 5 hours. Dreading doing it again though. lol

Hi ya Ian. Yeah should be all go for April! Very Happy Might be daring and try to squeeze a wheel refurb in just before hand!
